No. Both permanently break the chemical bonds in your hair to straighten it — that's irreversible. A Brazilian Blowout is temporary. Depending on your hair and our customizations, you can soften curl, wave, or go smoother. It smooths, it doesn't straighten.

Most clients see results for 10–12 weeks. That can vary based on your hair type, the customizations we use for your desired results, and how closely you follow the aftercare. Coarser hair may need refreshes more regularly; finer hair tends to hold the results longer.

Yes — one of the biggest advantages of Brazilian Blowout over other treatments is that you can wash your hair the same day. No 3-day waiting period. We'll give you specific aftercare guidance based on your hair.

Yes. But timing matters — lightening (bleach) services should be done prior, and single process color can be done before or two weeks after your treatment.

Brazilian Blowout is amazing for damaged hair. If your hair has breakage, chemical damage, or is already compromised, we apply the treatment at a lower heat for your first couple of sessions. Results will be more subtle initially, but each treatment helps improve the overall condition of your hair and you use less heat at home. So you're able to get your hair healthy again.

Out of caution, we recommend waiting until after pregnancy and breastfeeding. We offer formaldehyde-free alternatives — Keratin Complex and Keratin Revolution — that are a much more comfortable option during this time. Ask us about those during your phone consultation.

We do not perform any treatments over henna. Pure henna (100% Lawsonia inermis) can interfere with how the treatment bonds and penetrates, leading to unpredictable results. Compound henna or "black henna" with metallic salts is not compatible — it can react with the treatment chemistry and cause serious damage.

Come in with clean, dry, detangled hair. Avoid heavy products and oils leading up to your appointment. The cleaner your hair, the better the product works.

Sulfate-free aftercare is essential — sulfates strip the treatment significantly faster. Not all sulfate free shampoos are safe. We carry professional maintenance products at the salon and can recommend the right ones for your hair type. Salt water and chlorine will strip the treatment off of your hair much quicker.

Our average appointment takes between 2–3 hours depending on your hair length and density. Some hair types do require more time. We don't rush the process.
