Before You Book FAQ

Questions we
hear most often.

Will it make my hair completely straight?

No. A Brazilian Blowout is a smoothing treatment, not a permanent straightening treatment.

Results depend on your hair type and how we customize the treatment. Finer or wavier hair may appear straighter, while curly or coarser hair will see frizz and curl reduction, not pin-straight results. Brazilian Blowout is temporary and cumulative — it can be layered over time for more curl reduction, or customized to maintain volume and simply soften curl.

When should I color my hair?

Lightening or bleaching should always be done before your treatment. Single-process color can be done before, or about two weeks after.

Treatments don't dramatically change color, but they can create a slight shift in tone. Single-process color done two weeks after your treatment can rebalance your color if needed.

How long does a treatment last?

Most clients see results for 10–16 weeks, depending on customizations, the treatment used, how often you wash, and what products you use at home. Results are cumulative, so regular treatments tend to last longer and improve overall manageability over time.

How soon can I wash my hair after?

Yes — one of the biggest advantages of Brazilian Blowout is that you can wash your hair the same day. No 3-day waiting period. We’ll give you clear aftercare instructions at your appointment.

Can I tuck my hair behind my ears or wear it up?

Yes. With Brazilian Blowout you can wash the same day and wear your hair normally with no restrictions — clips, ponytails, tuck behind ears, all fine.

What happens if my hair accidentally gets wet?

With Brazilian Blowout, it’s not an issue. You can wash the same day, so getting wet is perfectly fine.

Can I curl my hair after?

Yes. You can curl, wave, or style your hair normally after your treatment. It may be harder for your hair to hold a curl for the first two weeks.

What products should I use after?

Not all sulfate-free shampoos are smoothing-safe — some will still cause your treatment to fade faster. We carry a variety of professional maintenance products and will recommend the right ones for your hair before you leave.

Can I swim or be active?

Swimming, salt water, and chlorine can cause treatments to fade faster over time. One or two dunks won't completely ruin your results — just rinse your hair right away.

Can I get a treatment if my hair is bleached, highlighted, or chemically treated?

Yes. We'll choose the right treatment and customize heat and technique based on your hair's history and condition.

What if my hair is damaged?

Yes, you can still get a treatment. If your hair is damaged, we adjust the treatment, heat, and approach to prioritize hair health while still improving smoothness and manageability. We'll talk through realistic expectations at your appointment.

Pregnant or breastfeeding?

Out of caution, we recommend waiting until after pregnancy and breastfeeding. We do have formaldehyde-free alternatives available — ask us during your phone consultation. Always check with your doctor first.
