Brazilian Blowout FAQ

Before You Book FAQ

Questions we hear most often.

Brazilian Blowout is a professional smoothing treatment that seals an amino acid based formula to your hair using heat. It doesn't permanently alter your hair's structure. It smooths and seals the cuticle, reducing frizz, cutting dry time, and making hair more manageable. Results last 10-12 weeks and gradually fade with each wash. Read our full guide.

No. Both permanently break the chemical bonds in your hair to straighten it, and that's irreversible. A Brazilian Blowout is temporary. Depending on your hair and how we customize the treatment, you can soften curl, reduce frizz, or go smoother, but it's not a straightening treatment.

Most clients see results for 10-12 weeks. Coarser or curlier hair may need refreshes more often; finer hair tends to hold results longer. Results are cumulative and improve with each treatment. See our full breakdown.

Right away. One of the biggest advantages of Brazilian Blowout is that you can wash your hair the same day. No 3-day waiting period.

Brazilian Blowout is fully customizable. Whether you want to maintain volume and curl or get a sleeker finish, we tailor the results to your goal. We talk through everything during the consultation so there are no surprises. Learn more about our three result levels.

Yes. But timing matters. Lightening (bleach) services should be done before, and single process color can be done before or two weeks after your treatment. Read our color timing guide.

Brazilian Blowout is actually great for damaged hair. We adjust heat and technique to prioritize hair health while still improving smoothness and manageability. Results are more subtle initially but improve over time. Learn more.

Out of caution, we recommend waiting until after pregnancy and breastfeeding. We do have formaldehyde-free alternatives available. Ask us about those during your phone consultation.

We do not perform any treatments over henna. Pure henna can interfere with how the treatment bonds, and compound or black henna with metallic salts can cause serious damage.

Arrive with clean, dry hair. Avoid heavy oils, leave-in conditioners, or styling products. If you color your hair, make sure lightening services are done beforehand. Single-process color can be done before or two weeks after.

Sulfate-free shampoo is essential. Sulfates strip the treatment significantly faster. Not all sulfate-free shampoos are safe, though. We carry professional maintenance products and will recommend the right ones for your hair.
