Brazilian Blowout Near Dorchester, Boston | Brazilian Blowout Boston
Brazilian Blowout Specialist Serving Dorchester Clients
Dorchester is one of the largest and most diverse neighborhoods in Boston, and I've been working with clients from Dot for years. My studio at 147 Beach Street in Quincy is right over the border, about 10 to 20 minutes depending on whether you're coming from Fields Corner, Ashmont, Savin Hill, or Lower Mills. It's one of the closest neighborhoods in Boston to my door.
I get a lot of Dorchester clients who found me after searching for a Brazilian Blowout specialist rather than just a general salon that happens to offer the service. That distinction matters more than most people realize. A Brazilian Blowout is a technical treatment, and the quality of your results depends heavily on the experience and focus of the person doing it.
My name is Franny Flynn. I've been in the hair industry for over 30 years, with the last 16+ dedicated specifically to smoothing treatments. I've done over 10,000 Brazilian Blowouts. This is the only service I offer, and it's the only thing I do every day.
Why Dorchester Residents Choose Brazilian Blowout Boston
Dorchester has an incredibly diverse population, which means I see an incredible range of hair types from this neighborhood. Thick, coarse Caribbean hair. Fine Irish hair. Textured Vietnamese hair. Every type responds differently to a Brazilian Blowout, and knowing how to adjust the treatment for each one is what separates a specialist from someone who's following a one-size-fits-all process from a training video.
Something I need to be clear about: a Brazilian Blowout is a smoothing treatment, not a straightening treatment. I say this every time because the misconception leads to disappointment. If you have tight curls, you will still have curls after a Brazilian Blowout. They'll be smoother, more defined, far less frizzy, and significantly easier to manage. But I'm not going to tell you your curly hair will come out bone straight because that's not how this works.
The Boston climate doesn't help matters. Humidity off the harbor in summer, bone-dry forced air heat in winter, and salt air year-round. All of it contributes to frizz, dryness, and unmanageable hair. A Brazilian Blowout creates a protective coating around each strand that blocks humidity and locks in moisture, which is why so many people in this area find it transformative.
What my Dorchester clients appreciate most is that I'm honest. I don't oversell. If the treatment isn't right for your hair type or your goals, I'll tell you during the consultation. I'd rather turn away a client than give them a treatment that won't make them happy.
What Makes Us Different
One Service, Done Right
I chose to specialize in Brazilian Blowouts because I saw how much better the results were when I focused on just one thing. General salons offer smoothing as one of dozens of services. I offer it as my only service. That means every technique, every product choice, and every minute of my workday is dedicated to getting the best possible smoothing result. For more on the treatment itself, read what a Brazilian Blowout is and what it is not.
16+ Years of Smoothing Experience
I started smoothing treatments in 2009 and committed to Brazilian Blowouts exclusively in 2016. Over 30 years in the industry total. The volume of experience I have with this single treatment gives me an understanding of hair behavior that you don't get from doing a couple treatments per month between other services.
Custom Treatments for Every Hair Type
This matters especially for Dorchester clients because of the range of hair types I see from this neighborhood. Coarse, textured hair needs a completely different approach than fine, silky hair. Processing time, product amount, application technique, all of it changes based on what I'm working with. Every appointment starts with a consultation where I assess your hair and set realistic expectations. See real results on our before and after page.
Private, Ventilated Studio
My studio is a private, one-on-one space. No other clients, no interruptions, no salon chaos. Just you and me in a fully ventilated room for the duration of your appointment. It's a relaxed, focused environment where I can give your hair the attention it deserves. For details on appointment duration, check the pricing and appointment length page.
Services & Pricing
Treatments are priced between $350 and $600+ across four tiers based on hair length, thickness, and condition. I set it up this way because it's fair. Someone with a chin-length bob shouldn't pay the same as someone with waist-length, thick hair. The product and time requirements are completely different.
Your appointment includes consultation, treatment, and full aftercare guidance. No surprise charges. Visit the pricing page for a detailed breakdown of each tier.
Getting Here from Dorchester
From Ashmont or Lower Mills, take Adams Street south into Quincy. You'll hit Quincy Center and Beach Street is right there. About 10 to 12 minutes depending on traffic. From Fields Corner, take Dorchester Avenue south through Neponset and into Quincy. It's a straight shot, maybe 15 minutes.
If you're coming from Savin Hill or Columbia Point, hop on 93 South to Exit 12 and you're in Quincy in under 15 minutes. From Uphams Corner or Codman Square, Adams Street or Blue Hill Avenue to Quincy are both easy routes. Free parking on Beach Street and nearby residential side streets. No meters, no garages, no stress.
If you take the Red Line, Quincy Center station is a short walk from the studio, so that's an option too if you'd rather not drive.

Frequently Asked Questions
Will a Brazilian Blowout work on my hair type?
Brazilian Blowouts work on virtually all hair types, but the results vary. Straight hair gets shine and frizz elimination. Wavy hair gets smoother, more defined waves. Curly hair gets easier to manage with less frizz. Very tightly coiled hair gets softer and more manageable but won't become straight. During our consultation, I'll tell you exactly what to expect for your specific hair.
How long do results last?
Typically 3 to 5 months depending on your hair type, how frequently you wash, and what products you use. I provide detailed aftercare so you get the maximum lifespan from your treatment. More details in my post on how long smoothing treatments last.
Can I take public transit to the salon?
Yes. Quincy Center is on the Red Line, same line that runs through Dorchester. From Ashmont, it's just a few stops south. The studio is a short walk from Quincy Center station.
How much does a treatment cost?
Between $350 and $600+ depending on your hair. I'll give you your exact price during the consultation so there are no surprises. Full pricing details are on the pricing page.
Can I get color and a Brazilian Blowout?
Yes, but they need to be separate appointments with proper timing. I recommend color first, about a week or two before your smoothing treatment. Read the details in my post about coloring and smoothing treatments.
Is this treatment safe for damaged hair?
A Brazilian Blowout can actually help damaged hair by adding a protective protein layer. However, severely damaged hair needs to be assessed individually. That's part of what the consultation is for. I won't do a treatment if I think it's not in your hair's best interest.
What should I expect at my first appointment?
We start with a consultation where I look at your hair and talk about your goals. Then the treatment itself, which takes 2 to 4 hours. You leave with smooth, finished hair and detailed aftercare instructions. Check our full FAQ page for more details on the process.
