Brazilian Blowout Near South Boston, Boston | Brazilian Blowout Boston

Brazilian Blowout Specialist Serving South Boston Clients

South Boston has changed a lot over the past two decades, but one thing hasn't: the ocean air that comes off the harbor and turns your hair into something you didn't ask for. If you're in Southie and searching for a Brazilian Blowout specialist, my studio is about 15 to 20 minutes south of you at 147 Beach Street in Quincy.

I get a steady flow of South Boston clients, many of them young professionals who moved into the Seaport or along East and West Broadway and are dealing with harbor humidity for the first time. Others have been in Southie for years and just finally got tired of fighting their hair every morning. Either way, they find me because I'm the only person in the greater Boston area whose entire practice is built around this one treatment.

My name is Franny Flynn. I've been in the hair industry for over 30 years, and I've spent the last 16+ years focused exclusively on smoothing treatments. Over 10,000 Brazilian Blowouts performed. This is all I do, and I've gotten very good at it.

Why South Boston Residents Choose Brazilian Blowout Boston

Living in South Boston means you're surrounded by water on three sides. Boston Harbor, Pleasure Bay, Carson Beach. That constant exposure to salt air and humidity is tough on every hair type. You step outside looking put together and by the time you get to the office, your hair has other plans.

A Brazilian Blowout is one of the most effective ways to combat that. It creates a protective protein coating around each strand that blocks humidity from penetrating the hair shaft. The result is smoother, shinier hair that holds its style regardless of what the weather is doing outside. For Southie residents who walk to work or spend time along the waterfront, the difference is significant.

I want to set expectations clearly, though: a Brazilian Blowout is a smoothing treatment, not a straightening treatment. If you come in with straight hair, you'll leave with smoother, shinier, frizz-free straight hair. If you come in with waves, you'll have smoother, more controlled waves. If you have curls, you'll still have curls, but they'll be defined and manageable instead of frizzy and unpredictable. Anyone who promises you pin-straight results regardless of your hair type is not being honest with you.

The reason people drive from South Boston to Quincy for this treatment is that they want it done by someone who does nothing else. Most salons in the Southie and Seaport area offer Brazilian Blowouts as one of many services, and their stylists might do a few per month at best. I do multiple treatments per week and have been doing so for over a decade. That experience gap shows up in the results.

What Makes Us Different

One Service, Done Right

Years ago, I made the decision to stop trying to be good at everything and start being great at one thing. Every single appointment in my studio is a Brazilian Blowout. That singular focus has allowed me to develop a level of technique and understanding that you simply cannot get from a stylist who does these treatments occasionally. 16+ Years of Smoothing Experience

Smoothing treatments since 2009, Brazilian Blowouts exclusively since 2016, and over 30 years in the hair industry overall. I've seen trends come and go. I've watched products improve. And through all of it, I've refined my technique with each of the 10,000+ treatments I've performed. That history is what you're getting when you book with me.

Custom Treatments for Every Hair Type

No two clients get the same treatment. Processing times, product amounts, and application techniques are all adjusted based on your individual hair type, texture, density, and condition. This is why the consultation matters so much. I need to see and feel your hair before I can tell you what the treatment will do and how I'll approach it. Take a look at real results on our before and after page.

Private, Ventilated Studio

My studio is nothing like a traditional salon. It's a private, one-on-one space with professional-grade ventilation. No other clients, no walk-ins, no distractions. Just focused, uninterrupted time for your treatment. Appointments typically run 2 to 4 hours depending on your hair. Details on our pricing and appointment length page.

Services & Pricing

I work with four pricing tiers from $350 to $600+, based on your hair's length, thickness, and condition. I'll tell you your exact tier during the consultation so you know what to expect before you book. Every appointment includes consultation, treatment, and thorough aftercare guidance.

Getting Here from South Boston

From the heart of Southie along East or West Broadway, the easiest route is to hop on 93 South. Take it to Exit 12 for Quincy, and you'll be at Beach Street in about 15 to 20 minutes depending on traffic. From the Seaport District, it's a similar route, 93 South to Quincy.

If you'd rather avoid the highway, you can take Dorchester Avenue south through Andrew Square, Savin Hill, and Neponset into Quincy. It takes a few minutes longer but it's a straightforward drive with no highway merging. From City Point or Pleasure Bay, take Day Boulevard to 93 South and you're looking at about 20 minutes.

There's free street parking on Beach Street and the surrounding side streets. The area is quiet and residential, so finding a spot is never an issue. If you prefer public transit, Quincy Center is on the Red Line, which runs right through South Boston at Broadway station.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is a Brazilian Blowout good for dealing with harbor humidity?

It's one of the best options available. The treatment creates a barrier that blocks humidity from affecting your hair. For Southie residents who walk along the waterfront or commute near the harbor, the frizz-fighting effect alone is worth it. Learn more about how long results last.

How long does the treatment take?

Plan for 2 to 4 hours. I know that's a range, but it depends on your hair's length and density. Short, fine hair is on the faster end. Long, thick hair takes more time. I don't cut corners on the application regardless of hair type.

Can I take the Red Line to the salon?

Yes. Take the Red Line from Broadway station to Quincy Center. The studio is a short walk from Quincy Center station. It's a convenient option if you don't want to deal with driving.

How long do results last?

Most clients get 3 to 5 months from a single treatment. Factors like how often you wash your hair and what shampoo you use play a role. I give every client detailed aftercare instructions to help maximize their results.

Can I still style my hair normally after a Brazilian Blowout?

Absolutely. You can curl it, straighten it, blow it out, put it up, whatever you want. The treatment doesn't limit your styling options. It just makes every option easier and faster because you're starting from a smoother, more manageable baseline.

Should I do color before or after the treatment?

Before, ideally one to two weeks prior. The smoothing treatment can actually help seal in your color and make it last longer. For the full details on timing, check out my post on coloring before or after a smoothing treatment.

What if I'm not sure the treatment is right for me?

That's what the free consultation is for. Text me and we'll have a phone conversation where I can learn about your hair and give you a straight answer about whether a Brazilian Blowout makes sense for your goals. No obligation, no sales pitch. Check our full FAQ page for more common questions.
